This is a portrait created for a famous French film star Isabelle Huppert’s photography exhibition in China by the invitation of Cultural Services of the French Embassy. I chose to take human’s light blond hair as the carrier of the photo, as one of my specialties is to deign works combining with special materials and photographs. Before going Paris to shoot, I studied several films of hers. Her strong personalities in her works deeply attracted me—sensitive, struggling, mysterious, rather feminine, she’s longing for freedom, but she can never get complete freedom. I found her hair texture coincides with my feeling. And finally, I choose this face with complex emotions, for I felt an attractive power in her eyes, strong as mantra. Then I print her portrait on the hair with special technique.
